As seen from near Gig Harbor, Mount Rainier looms over Tacoma and Commencement Bay - an iconic tourist shot... and one amazingly that I've never taken before. But then, as many folks on my FList know, 'the mountain' is a daily background presence that we tend to take for granted. We primarily use it as a metaphor for the weather - "the mountain is out" when it's clear and sunny, "can't see the mountain" when it's not.
If you look close, down in the lower right you can see a house that's located on the beach. I'd love to live there, or at least rent it for a weekend.
