The 'net and communications
Feb. 28th, 2008 11:20 amI found this yesterday while researching other things, and it's worth a read: The Internet Culture and Haiku. Though written in (obviously) in the context of poetry discussion and critique online, his points about the downsides of rapid communication and the effects of posting often apply to many an internet forum.
The biggest problem, to me, in internet communication is that people tend to respond to bullet points with bullet points - and all too often fail to address, or even see, the larger concepts.
