Candlemas Saturday February 20th, 2010, Barony of Dragons Laire

Come join the Barony of Dragon’s Laire as we celebrate the transition from winter to spring, and we challenge the populace to compete to become our new Arts & Sciences Champion. Hosted by the Baronial Culinary Guild, Candlemas will offer a Roman Feast, the A&S Championship, a single entry competition, games of chance, and other activities throughout the day.

In addition to these events, the South Sound Campus of the University of Ithra is pleased to offer classes in conjunction with Dragon's Laire's Candlemas event. These are primarily hands-on. Online registration for the Ithra will be available at http://www.ithra.antir.sca.org/index.php when classes are finalized. At that time, you will also find site information, fees and class descriptions there. Details will follow on the various mailing lists.

Site Info: The gate will open 9am and the site will close at 10pm. This is a dry site. Gate fee is $10 for adults; $5 for ages 6-17; free for 5 and under. Non-member surcharge is in effect. Feast tickets are $8 for adults; $4 for ages 6-17; free for 5 and under. Checks should be made payable to "SCA Inc. - Dragon's Laire".

The feast reservations deadline is February 7th, 2010.

Directions:
From the Bremerton ferry terminal: exit the ferry onto Washington Blvd and get into the right lane. Turn Right on Warren Ave(Wheaton Way), Turn Right on Sheridan Ave (at the Albertson's) *and follow up the hill. Turn right onto Perry Ave. The school will be a short way down on the left. From the south on Hwy 3 take the Kitsap Way exit. From the exit go right onto Kitsap Way and follow to 11th. Turn left onto Sheridan Ave and follow as above *. From the north on Hwy 3 take the exit for Hwy 303/Waaga Way towards E Bremerton. Turn left from the exit onto Waaga Way and follow into E Bremerton. Turn left onto Sheridan and follow as above *. The Mannette Bridge is expected to be closed during the event so beware of mapping software that leads you across it..
