This band showed up in a discussion on a friend's LJ a couple of weeks back...
It's been a long time since oscilloscopes featured in the video meant 'high tech' and 'futuristic'... I think they were superseded by CRT's within a few years after this video was made.
Here we have the 1974 opening sequence from the Six Million Dollar Man, which was made in the midst of the transition between the old and the new. It starts out with the blinken lights which (along with silly scopes and spinning tape drives) used to stand in for high tech, but finishes up with 'state-of-the-art' computer graphics on a CRT screen.
Oddly enough, blinken lights have returned with a vengance as a symbol of high tech... Probably because many people are familiar with them from their modems and routers, as well as pictures of data centers with all the status lights on the front of the machines...

Ok, that was quite the digression... :) We'll wrap it up with Procol Harum's other well known hit...
