Some days even minor house remodeling projects get out of hand... In our planning for the crafts room, it didn't occur to us that part of the southeast corner is scheduled to someday become part of the utility room next door. (To let us move the washer and dryer upstairs, where most of the laundry is generated anyhow, and to reclaim the space in the pantry currently occupied by the same...) So now, were are on a temporary halt while we get some quick estimates on the replumbing required to see if we can afford to do it now. We've already learned that the flue and the gas pipe must be enlarged to install the tankless water heater - which means right out of the gate more work (read $$$) than we'd hoped. If we can't afford to do it now (and I fear we can't), we'll have to be careful how we use that end of the room.

Saturday was a blast - the GeoLuau, a vaguely Hawaiian themed geocachers picnic. (Vague as in, those who remembered the picnic actually had a theme wore Hawaiian shirts - and nobody worried about those that didn't. Geocachers are mellow that way.) Brenda and I were 'on staff' for the first time at a geoevent. At the after, Debbie expressed pleasure that Brenda and myself had 'rolled with punches' so well. (Moving the kid's game we were working half an hour and asking us to cover another game for half an hour? Pffft child's play.) We were tired from being on our feet all day though.

Much fun was had by all - and the weather cooperated by being just warm enough to be comfortable. Much good food and much good company. (And yes, I do consider a plate heaped with hot wings and raw broccoli dipped in ranch dressing, washed down with a beer, to be a perfectly adequate lunch. Even if the broccoli became 'hot broccoli' when I used the ranch dressing on them as dip for the wings.)

Sunday was much less fun - we decided to go get breakfast and go wander about for a bit. We headed up into Silverdale, and when I made the right from Silverdale Way onto Bucklin hill... I clipped the curb by accident. By the time we reached Shari's (which was full to overflowing anyhow), the right rear wheel was grinding. I pulled over into the parking lot of the office building next door and discovered the tire was flat - and the wheel was dinged and scraped. Brenda walked over to Burger King while I called AAA, and we ate breakfast in the car while awaiting the tow truck. We picked up something for dinner after the spare was on, and spent the rest of the afternoon hanging about the house.

Good idea - the guy at Les Schwab suggested that as well. (It had not occurred to me.)
