I love riding the ferry, camera in hand. Between people watching the passengers, the amazing scenery, the weather, and traffic on the water... it's a cheap ticket to a ringside seat for photographic opportunities.

What kind of submarine is it?

It's an Ohio class SSGN, you can see the "shoulders" where the deck flares out to support the deck shelters the SEALs use. It's either Ohio or Michigan since the other pair is based in King's Bay GA.

It took a bit of patience waiting for the sub and the ferry I was on to get in just the right position... and then I rattled off about eight shots to get the right one.
