Chasing Shadows
Jan. 21st, 2012 12:36 pmThe last of my pics from Jacksonville...

On my trip to Jacksonville the week before last, I couldn't carry my 550D for a variety of reasons.... But my old G10 fit neatly into my backpack and by default became my camera-of-choice for the week. Shooting with a DSLR over the last year, I'd forgotten what a joy it was to shoot with a simple and quick camera. I'm glad I never tried too hard to sell the old girl, and she'll definitely stay as my backup for a long while yet.
While heading to catch my flight home, the pattern of light and shadow from the skylights on the moving walkway caught my eye. I'd have loved to spend more time working on technique and composition (I was trying for a timed exposure to blur the shadows more and to get a lower angle), but it was awkward to squat with a backpack on and I only had a few minutes before my flight was called for boarding. Despite these limitations, I still think this one came out pretty good.
