If you put too much soap in your front loading washer, and a mountain of suds overflows onto the floor when you open it, a shop vac cleans it up in a trice. (If there is sawdust in your shop vac, I recommend quickly dumping it prior to such a use unless you intend to create a concrete like substance in your shop vac.)

Don't ask me how I know this.

I've discovered that some fabric softener added to an over sudsing wash will quickly quiet the bubbles. Learned from a laundramat experience that could have gone WAY worse.
