derekl_1963A while back were were discussing Bad Pop Culture for Kids of the 50's and 60's... And today I spy a fusion of three of the worst trends: bad pre fab bands, bad live 'action' TV shows, and a tendency to put everything into a comic book!
THE MONKEEMEN (warning: sound.)
Seriously, back before the mid 1970's, every damn thing related to kids was made into a comic book it seems. Comic books and bedsheets - the height of commercial tie-ins. (Then George Lucas signed a deal for Star Wars slurpee cups - and eBay's fortune was made.)
When did they stop making comic books of everything? (Or did they not stop and I failed to notice?) When they started making computer games of everything?
