Photography, automobiles, various and sundry catching up.

• Spotted a sailboat sunk in Phinney Bay last week that pokes above the water a low tide... I've gotten some decent shots when weather, tides, and light have cooperated. (Which hasn't been much.) The past two days I've been up at 5AM, but was only able to go out this morning - only to get maybe two usable shots before it began to drizzle.
  
  
• There's also quite a few ducks/geese/seagulls/crows there, so I'll be shooting there a lot in the future I think. It's a hell of a lot more convenient, if less scenic, than Big Beef Lagoon.

  The really big advantage of Phinney Bay is that it's literally three minutes from the house - so if the light and conditions are good at the house, so it is as the bay. Big Beef is half an hour away...
  
  
• Went to Matt's on Sat for Spiritmaker's Guild. Got a nice Nut Brown Ale started from malt syrup with added grains for the color/flavor. Determined that the logistics for our ultimate goal (brewed over an open fire from grain) will be a wee bit more complicated than we thought.
  
  
• The van tossed it's serpentine belt on Sun. At last report from the dealer, the damage and the bill are growing considerably... It'll take some hard thought to figure out if it's worth it. The van is running like a top otherwise, and we just put a new transmission in it 20,000 miles ago - but it's got 130,000 miles on it.
