It's like a heatwave burning in my heart....

A little bit of 60's, probably the only 60's we'll see all week...

I just went and checked the thermometer on the back deck - and at 8.30 in the morning it reads 76 degrees! The really scary part is that the deck and backyard are still completely in the shade, as is that side of the house so it's not reflected heat either.

Random notes on the heat:

The pool temp is 82 degrees - and that's after being heated the last few days by the sun and cooling off each night.

The AC at Brenda's office is barely keeping up, she has decreed that the pool will be ready when she gets home from work tonite.

We've abandoned the master bedroom, which gets very hot for the guest bedroom. The guest bedroom still gets warm, but is much cooler than the master.

Dinner tonite will be sandwiches, it's too stinkin' hot to even fire up the grill.

And we've done it - three days in a row!

According to weather.gov, the temperature at the airport blew past the previous record of 97 degrees sometime around 1PM (Making for the third day of record setting temps) and rocketed past the all-time record of 101 degrees sometimes around 3pm.

EDIT Just put one of my cooking thermometers in the shade on the front porch (which is on the West side of the house) and it reads 107
