No, for one type of geek in my audience, "101010" isn't binary for 42. Nor, for a different type of geek (a set overlapping the first), is 42 a reference to the Question.
101,010 is the number of miles on my odometer while running an errand this morning...
It is quite astonishing to own a car with over 100,000 miles on it. Actually, the van is the second car I owned that has gone over 100K miles - and the first is still in daily use after having been sold to a friend. When I was a kid, a car with 50,000 miles on it was considered a clapped out wreck. Not because of the "buy a new car every year" mindset that used to be so common (we weren't in that demographic anyhow), but because they frequently were clapped out wrecks unless lovingly and carefully maintained. Now, 50k mile warranties on cars a fairly common and the mileage on warranties is steadily rising.
