Watched the game tonight, and it was very bittersweet to see Ichiro in a Yankee's uniform. They were playing some of his classic plays at commercial breaks, and it was heartrending to listen to Dave call The Throw.

But I take grim satisfaction in this: They still booed Pay-Rod.

Yes, it was very sad indeed and disappointing. Especially since it was the Yankees. At one time he said he'd never leave the Mariners but here it is. OTOH, I can't really blame him. His career will come to a close in a few years and I'm sure he'd like to play for a team that has a real chance at the playoffs and the World Series.

He might get a reboot, it does happen. But yeah, he hasn't got many years left either way. His production the last couple of years is also not worth what he's likely to ask when he goes free agent next year... so the timing was right.

I'm mostly just annoyed at the opportunities our management has squandered.
